Overview

In the modern economy, professional editing services are dramatically limiting in their price. While wealthy investors have no difficulty affording editing services, many people find them prohibitively expensive. Though the largest publishing organizations have in-house editors, publishers often retain special rights to an author’s work. If you choose to work with Brother Wind Writing, I promise to never take liberties with a client’s work.

Brother Wind Writing is founded on a central principle. That the written word of every author is valuable and worthy of being read. It is my goal to provide editing services to every author at an affordable rate, as well as providing a variety of discounts and promotions.

Pricing

The Twain

Personal writing projects with a manuscript shorter than book-length may require different types of services, with some variation. Brother Wind Writing offers these services in a tiered format, indicating the degree of difficulty as well as providing a cost efficient means for writers to receive specialized editing services.

Tier 1: Proofreading and sentence structure enhancement. This tier is perfect for well-written manuscripts that require minor editing.

Up to 2,000 words: $100 flat rate
2,000–3,999 words: $125 flat rate
4,000–5,999 words: $150 flat rate
6,000–39,999 words: $30 per 1,000 words
Projects 40,000 words or greater will fall under the Tolkien Package.

Tier 2: For manuscripts requiring major proofreading and sentence structure improvement, as well as paragraph formatting and readability enhancement, Brother Wind Writing offers a second tier of specialized services.

Up to 2,000 words: $200 flat rate
2,000–3,999 words: $250 flat rate
4,000–5,999 words: $300 flat rate
6,000–19,999 words: $40 per 1,000 words
20,000-39,999 words: $30 per 1,000 words
Projects 40,000 words or greater will fall under the Tolkien Package.

Á la Carte Items: In addition to offering the above listed tiers of editing services, we offer á la carte options which may be added at the clients request. AP, Chicago or MLA style formatting. Cost will be a flat fee of $10 for 5 citations or less, or a flat fee of $20 for 5-10 citations. Bibliographies longer than 10 citations will be priced at a scalable rate and agreed upon prior to project execution.

The Emerson

Brother Wind Writing calculates the cost of your editing job based on the word count of your academic essay and required turnaround time. The basic rate is $20 for every 1,000 words, and any additional words under 1,000 will be calculated on that basis. (For example, 1,500 words: $30) Essays of less than 1,000 words will cost a flat rate of $20. Essays with a deadline of one week or sooner will cost an additional $20.

Á la Carte Items: In addition to offering top-tier academic editing service, we offer á la carte options which may be added at the clients request. AP, Chicago or MLA style formatting. Cost will be a flat fee of $10 for 5 citations or less, or a flat fee of $20 for 5-10 citations. Bibliographies longer than 10 citations will be priced at a scalable rate and agreed upon prior to project execution.

The Tolkien

The Tolkien package is designed with end-to-end service in mind. Developmental editing and editorial advice is included for those who require it. Authors seeking editing services for a book-length manuscript (greater than 40,000 words), once again benefit from a tiered pricing model.

For manuscripts less than 100 pages, the price is fixed at $1,000 plus a 1% royalty on future book sales.

100-299 pages: $1,100 fixed rate plus 1% royalty
300-499 pages: $1,200 fixed rate plus 1% royalty
500-699 pages: $1,400 fixed rate plus 1% royalty
700-899 pages: $1,600 fixed rate plus 1% royalty
900-999 pages: $1,800 fixed rate plus 1% royalty

Manuscripts greater than 1,000 pages will be priced at $2 per page plus a guaranteed 1% royalty on future book sales.

Payment Method

Brother Wind Writing accepts Paypal, Venmo, Zelle, and Bitcoin Lightning Transactions.

Discounts and Promotions

A 10% discount will be offered to anyone paying in Bitcoin fractions (Satoshis). Discount may not be available to clients utilizing promotion codes. All promotions and discounts are subject to change at editor’s discretion and will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
