Meet the Editor

Our time at home was no different. My mom was always immersing my younger brother and I into countless stories. She would bring home books from the library and we would all pile on her bed in the evenings and listen to her read to us. She instinctively dramatized these stories with voices and personalities. Needless to say, I got my love of books from my mom. She may never know the mark she’s made on my life, and so many other children.

In fact, it was she who first urged me to write. One of my earliest childhood ‘writing’ memories was when my mother encouraged me to enter an essay into the Jack O’Kelly Sertoma Club annual contest, in which I placed third. It was then, in 2009, that my mother urged me to write for the Teens & 20s program as a volunteer writer at our (then) local newspaper, The Times-News. In that building, at our weekly meetings, I would meet the love of my life.

Kristian and I have been ‘attached at the hip’ since 2010. We have walked a beautiful, passionate, and grace-filled life together. We married in 2014 and began expanding our family in 2017 with the birth of our firstborn, Rafe. Our daughter, Lorelai, burst into the world in 2020. Ella Mae, our youngest daughter, graced us with her presence in 2024. Through these little three souls, I’ve been able to find my own ‘character voices’. It has been such a pleasure to weave story-telling into their life, and to pass on that legacy that my mother first passed to me.

Though the Lord has worked patiently on me and my life from the beginning, my awareness of His love really took shape in 2015. Since then, every time I fell short, He was there to show me the way. His grace in my life is the one and only constant I have ever had, and He remains a safe haven for our family.

I served in the Army National Guard from 2012 to 2019. My time in the military opened up many opportunities for me. While on a year-long peacekeeping mission to Bahrain, I had the opportunity to start my Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Counseling through Liberty University, which I completed in 2017.

After leaving the military, I began working for the most celebrated and respected homebuilder in our county. I’ve had the honor of working and learning alongside these truly excellent men, and I have grown so much through the experience. While my time in the military is something that I’m proud of and thankful for, there is nothing more important to me than to be present for my children each day.

Friends and family, and especially my wife, have urged me for years to pursue writing at the professional level. I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Composition through Liberty University and plan to complete that in the fall of 2025. Now I am offering my personal writing and editing services. In the future, Lord willing, I plan to expand this writing business into a publishing house, in the hopes of providing even more amazing services to authors in our community and beyond.

From our home in Burlington, North Carolina, I will provide the highest quality service available. Whether you are a college student or a seasoned author, your work deserves the utmost attention to detail and expertise. From crafting compelling narratives to polishing technical documents, I am here to elevate your writing to the next level.

Hey everyone, I’m Paul! I was born and raised in central North Carolina, and now my wife and I are raising our three children here. We love the vibrant history and heritage that our community has. From my earliest memories, words and stories have always been an important part of my life.

I grew up as a librarian’s son - my mother served for many years in one of our local libraries. In our town, she’s “the story time lady”; to me, she’s the greatest storyteller that ever lived. I grew up in the library and spent countless afternoons after school and during summers sitting and reading while she worked. It was never boring to me; the library is a den of myths and legends, histories, and folklore.
